We took The Bradley Method class series with Rhonda in preparation for the birth of our twins. Rhonda came highly recommended to us, and she did not disappoint. The classes were very engaging, informative, and fun! We particularly liked “birthing” the ping pong ball from the balloon. She is very skilled at communicating a lot of information at once without it feeling too overwhelming. She also shared a ton of stories and examples from her own births as well as from her work as a doula of things to be aware of based on real life experience, which was invaluable. We learned a ton and by the end of the class series we felt empowered and prepared to go through the birthing process. Rhonda is also incredibly caring and kind, and encouraged us to contact her with any questions or advice outside of class that she might be able to help with. It’s obvious that she genuinely cares about her students and looks forward to hearing about their births. We had a wonderful experience all around!
We learned so much from your Bradley classes and really enjoyed your perspective and experience. My husband learned so much from the class and was so amazing during my labor that the nurses dubbed him “Doula Dan.” Even though our birthing experience was not what we had planned for (as our little man had the cord around his neck x2 requiring an emergency C-section after a long labor) I felt that every decision was ours. You empowered us to ask the right questions during those difficult moments. We are so thankful that you were part of our story.
We cannot thank you enough for your wisdom and guidance throughout pregnancy AND labor & delivery! Your class helped prepare both of us for the long & crazy labor. Having you there in the final hours was a breath of fresh air (and omg the essential oils!! 🙂).
We feel so prepared and empowered to bring baby into this world. We are forever grateful!
The class demonstrations helped clear up questions about form. Along with the exercises, the demonstrations of the birthing positions were very beneficial. The explanation of each stage of labor was also essential for our successful natural child birth. We felt Rhonda did an excellent job covering and reviewing this. The questions in the homework helped refresh the material. We found that we were pretty knowledgeable as to how labor was progressing and what to expect.
Everything was really helpful! I liked learning how to distinguish the signs of different stages of labor, practicing laboring and pushing positions, reviewing the same concepts multiple times and hearing other people’s birth stories, questions and concerns.
It also gave us time to think outside of the box and think about things that we may have never considered.
I believe the concentration on getting the coach in tune with the mother is what saved me and my son’s life. I went into preterm labor at 25 weeks and my husband picked it up right away, even before I did.
I felt the Bradley Method helped us achieve the pregnancy and labor that we wanted.
“My wife did but I quickly jumped on board. It fits our world view. I am skeptical of many things deemed normal in society today. I felt the Bradley Method helped us achieve the pregnancy and labor that we wanted. It also helped confirm our suspicions about the medical profession when it comes to childbirth.”
“I wanted my husband and I to feel confident that we had prepared best we could for going through labor unmedicated and with the least amount of intervention.”
“Aiming for a natural birth experience and to learn overall about birthing process in general”
“The length and depth of the information to work towards an unmedicated vaginal childbirth”
“because I wanted to have an unmedicated birth and I’d heard great things from friends.”
“My husband stated he didn’t feel involved in the pregnancy.”
“Recommendation of a colleague”
“Recommendation of a friend.”
We took the Bradley Method course with Rhonda. The course was super informative and gave us practical tips we used to prepare for birth. She helped me partner and I to feel confident and showed us how to be a strong team in the delivery room. Rhonda was a warm, calm, and supportive presence in our lives during the course. So much so that we decided we needed that energy with us during our delivery. She provided us with a calm confidence throughout labor. She offered information to help us make decisions and supported whatever decision we choose. She brought a lot of personal touches: battery operated tea lights, essential oils, and even offered to take some pictures of us. Twenty-two hours of natural labor later, we met our goal of an unmedicated birth, and welcomed our son into the world. We can’t imagine having gone through that experience with anyone else. We’re eternally grateful for Rhonda and will always feel a special connection to her.
We cannot thank you enough for all your love, support, and knowledge throughout our pregnancy and during the birth. I can say with 100% certainty that we would not have been able to achieve our goals of a medication-free birth if it wasn’t for you. Your calm and knowledgeable presence was exactly what we needed to bring our sweet babe into the world in such a beautiful way.
“I had the pleasure of working with Rhonda as our Doula for the birth of our second baby boy! My first birth experience was quite traumatic and included lots of medical intervention with Pitocin and an epidural followed by a brutally long labor! Despite this, when it came time to having our second, I felt like we knew the ropes and would be fine just to have a baby like before. It was actually at the insistence of my husband who felt like he wanted more support in supporting me that we asked Rhonda pretty late in the game to be that support. Boy am I glad we did! I had no idea how amazing of an experience giving birth could be! Rhonda did so much from creating the perfect atmosphere to making suggestions throughout the labor process to help it go even smoother. Right at the finish line, she really stepped in as the coach when we needed her! She was everything we wanted and needed even when we didn’t know what we wanted or needed. The idea of birth was completely transformed from a tortuous thing that happened to me into a beautiful and empowering moment that I DID! I already think fondly about the birth of a potential third baby, and there is no chance I’m doing it without Rhonda!”
“Rhonda was extremely supportive and helpful during our delivery. She gave just the right amount of advice to ensure we made decisions that were in line with our birth plan. We would not have succeeded with a non-medicated birth or carrying out our birth plan without her help.”
“The reassurance it gave my wife when she walked in the door. Other than that, the cold snap towel and sippy straw that we didn’t bring because it wasn’t packed.”
